Similar Products - Linking characters to theory

Theorists:
There are four Theorists for thriller films;
- Goffman
- Propp
- Campbell, Flecture and Greenhill
- Bishop
Each believe that there are certain "types" of character that are within thriller movies and have specific roles or "characteristics". For example; Campbell, Flecture and Greenhill believed that there was three types of character; the big man, the sorcerer and the trickstar.

James Watson falls under the theory of Erving Goffman where he believed there were four main types of character:
- The Protagonist (Leading Character)
- The Deuteragonist (Secondary Character)
- The Bit Player (the audience is unaware of their background)
- The Fool (Uses humour)

Personally I think that James falls under various characters within this theory such as the protagonist and the bit player. This is because he is the main character of the film as it is directly centered around him, but he also the bit player as a result of the audience being very unaware of his past and how he got to where he is now.
